The narrative subtelty of panels 19-21 are largely lost due to their re-ordering in later
restoration. Panels 21 and 20 are almost mirror images showing the blind Samson walking with a stick and guided by a
small boy. The crucial difference is that whereas in panel 21 his hair is still short, by panel 20, it has regrown. It
is a splendid visual narrative trick to indicate the passing of time. Together these two then set up the subsequent events in
paanel 19, where Samson, his strength restored, asks the boy to position him between two pillars of his captors' great hall.
